There Is No way Deaf People Are Stupid

I have seen deaf people treated a lot differently to other people on so many occassions and it is something that really does get to me. The worst instance in which I hav e seen this kind of thing happening is when I was in hospital visiting a friend. I know for a fact this lady was not stupid because I had the chance to speak to her beforehand and she was very nice indeed. I cannot even believe to imagine how annoying it must be for the person as I was getting annoyed myself. Yes I can understand that people perhaps need to raise their voiced for the sound to get through the hearing aid but there is no need to talk to her like she is an idiot.

This is most certainly not the only ever case I have sen happening. Are these people stupuid themselves or is there actually a reason behind it?

People really need to be edcuated on this because there are so many people out there that think deaf people are also dumb and this is not the case at all. I cannot imagine how it must feel when someone is deaf and they are getting treated like they are a fool.

So the main thing to remember is that unless you know for a fact that the deaf person you are talking to is also suffering from a mental condition there is no way that you should be talking to them like they are stupid.
